A New English-Speaking Dental Clinic Opens in Bratislava

British Ambassador Andy Garth officially opened the new Smile Clinic in Bratislava. Therefore, this marks a new chapter in English-speaking dental care in Slovakia.

After nearly ten years caring for UK patients under the Dental Holiday brand, Smile Clinic Slovakia recently opened a new clinic in central Bratislava. It is located in Tower 115, the tallest building in the city, by the Danube River and just steps from the Slovak National Theatre. Consequently, this modern location suits expats living in Bratislava, Vienna, or nearby parts of Hungary.

Like our main clinic in Piešťany, the Bratislava branch uses the latest dental technology. It’s designed to make international patients feel at home.

Since 2006, over 3,000 patients from the UK have trusted Smile Clinic with their smiles. Many travel here for advanced treatments, such as dental implants by Dr. Marek Salka, a UK-trained implantologist with more than 14 years of experience. Dr. Salka often speaks at dental conferences across Europe.

He and business partner Daniel Shaw started the Piešťany clinic with just four team members. Due to growing demand locally and abroad, Smile Clinic has grown quickly. This led to opening the new Bratislava clinic.

Today, Smile Clinic has a team of over 30 English-speaking dental professionals across both locations. That includes:

• 3 dental hygienists
• 3 care plan managers
• 3 dentists
• 9 dental nurses
• 6 lab technicians
• Plus: our amazing driver Dano, who picks up patients directly from Bratislava Airport and brings them safely to and from our Piešťany clinic

Our team speaks English, Slovak, German, and even Korean – and shares a simple goal: make patients feel safe, understood, and cared for.

Honorable ambassador, friends, family & colleagues. Thank you to all of you for coming and for giving us the chance to thank you personally for your help & support in making the Bratislava Smile Clinic a reality. Both Marek & I are humbled and honored.

Almost 10 years Dr. Marek and I have been working together, to provide our best for our patients from Great Britain and locally in Piešťany, and it a great privilege that we now have the chance to do the same here in Bratislava as well.

I would like to say a big thanks to both our patients both local and international who have put their money where their mouth is and trusted us with their smiles, as without them, we would never have had the opportunity build this 2nd clinic.
